Roma Forum- 18th Novemeber 2016 2nd National Meeting

At the InfoEurope Center, in Bucharest, on the 18th of  November,  there took place the Second National Meeting of Roma Forum organized by Nevo Parudimos, as member of ERGO in partnership with Romani Criss.

The meeting focused on the Roma communities issues in order to increase Roma grassroots organization capacity building of the Roma Forum ngo’s members in the area of monitoring and advocacy work, along with the experienced ngo’s like RomaniCriss and Sastipen;

The main approaches targeted the list of several proposals for the Romanian Presidency of the European Union in 2019 in order to be formalized on the public agenda during the Romanian presidency. These proposals referred to the next important areas: school segregation, the mediation process: health and education, and the forced eviction of the Roma.

Marian Mandache (Romani Criss), as an invited speaker of the 1st section, proposed  ways of addressing the Roma issues to the future Romanian Government from 2017: bilateral meetings on the main social and economical fields that address Roma, such as sectorial meetings with public ministry representative to assume on their public agenda the Roma issues.

The Roma Forum  has about 20 participants  of  roma organizations of Romania and  some new ones expressed their willing of joining.

As an ERGO member, Nevo Parudimos expresses its commitment to sustain the Roma Forum activity and to develop the Roma ngo’s capacity building by exchanging information, solutions and models in order to overcome certain issues.

At the event participated also the representatives of  public athorities , National Roma Agency  and, Mr. Alexandru Potor the president of National Federation of LAGs.
