Exploring the CLLD in the Czech context

16 June 2016

On June 2nd – 5th Slovo 21, Czech ERGO member, has organised an exchange visit between the ERGO members and its core members, from Hungary, Slovakia, Romania, Slovakia, France. The aim of the exchange visit was to discuss and exchange practices on the work done as part of the Annual Working Programme 2016 and to discuss the new ERGO Strategy.

Special attention was given to the work on Community Local Led Development (CLLD) due to advanced steps on this in the Czech Republic. A round table was organised with the Czech stakeholders – Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Agency for Social Inclusion, ELARD Network and Romodrom. This brought up many new information and practices that the participants could learn from.

The ERGO network members had also took part in the first seminar as part of the National Roma Platform organised by the National Roma Contact Point with the title ”Roma activism as a tool for integration” which aim was to bring together Roma Civil Society and to find solution for a better implementation of the National Roma Integration Strategy. ERGO Network and its members actively participate in the debates and discussion together with Roma individuals and grassroots organisations from the Czech Republic.

The participants of the exchange visit also provided feedback to the new ERGO 2016-2020 Strategy: they reflected on the three main pillars of the ERGO Strategy: People, Advocacy, and Network and helped to explore the stakeholder analysis and discuss the role of antigypsyism as a cause of the Roma exclusion in Europe.

The exchange visit was organised at the same time with the Khomoro world music festival which brought together Roma artists and musicians from all over the world. It was a great experience combining the work of the ERGO Members and interacting with other Roma individuals beyond Roma civil society.
