in Tsiblisi – Georgia (from October 21st to 26th 2014)

Application Deadline: 31st August 2014 - Deadline extended to 10 September 2014

ERGO Network is glad to open the call for 7 young Roma activists (18 – 30 years old) for the training Seminar on Minority Issues. The Seminar will gather together 40 young Leaders of Jewish, Armenian and Roma Backgrounds in Tsiblisi – Georgia from October 21st to 26th 2014.

The current raise of xenophobia, hate-speech and hate crimes by far-rights parties is touching the most vulnerable groups of the society, among them the Roma, Jewish and Armenian communities. Moreover this three communities share a common history of segregation, marginalization and were target of different Genocides through the History. Therefore, ERGO Network and its partners have decided to tackle the question of minorities through building a cross-community approach and common relationship with public authorities in this joint seminar for young leaders. This Seminar aims to develop participants’ ability to deal constructively with identity issues in order to play a fuller part in public life.

Seminar participants will be expected to contribute to the production of a “Good Practice Guide” to serve as a reference and inspiration in future projects and initiatives as well as to sharing their experience through various media after the event.
