Six months of silence of the Roma Unit

25 May 2012

ERGO Network sent early this week an Open letter to the Viviane Reding, the Vice President of the European Commission about  the lack of action and the lack of communication with the Roma civil society in last six month since the 6th EU Roma Platform.

ERGO calls for establishing working groups that will allow meaningful consultation opportunities with civil society and experts ahead of the EU Roma Platform meetings. Moreover ERGO asks to clarify basic questions on the benefits of NRIS for the local and grassroots Roma groups, especially when it comes to combating widespread anti-Gypsyism.

Letter contains following attachments:
- ERPC Consultation response 24Oct 2011
- ERGO Letter to Baroso 3Oct 2011
- NGO Consultation meeting output 30Jun 2011
