Case studies

ERGO and its partners have gathered loads of experience on how to empower and strengthen grassroots Roma communities in South-Eastern Europe. We want to share these case studies with you.

Balkan: Monitoring Roma policies Representatives from the Bulgarian GORD executed a quick scan on the implementation of the national policies at local level. The quick scan was done in 21 Bulgarian municipalities. 

Bulgaria: Mobilisation of Roma communities Partner organisation Integro investigates why one Roma community succeeds to resolve their problems while the neighbouring community does not succeed. 

Albania: Roma women break the stigma Groups of Roma women from different towns and villages initiated the display of their culture in the Albanian National Museum.

Bulgaria and Albania: Mother centres Mother centres can be characterised as open spaces for young women, where they can discuss about common problems, usually in the areas of relationships, family, child care, raising up children.

Albania: From young team to key stakeholder In a short time, RAA developed into a key player in Albanian Roma civil society and an expert in activating a large variety of Roma groups.
